Add. defendants: Allen Garner, Jr., Alex Henry, & Thomas Lillard. Plaintiff sold a house and lot formerly owned by the deceased to the defendant for a sum of $1,200 and took two notes for $600 each. The plaintiff gave him a deed for the property. 1874 Manly Keeble admr. of Rebecca Keeble dec. v. Richard Keeble Blount Debt Rebecca Keeble dec. was the wife of the pla. and an heir-at-law and distribute under the will of Jesse Ray dec. Richard Keeble is the brother of the plaintiff and was ordered by the admr. of Jesse Ray, who Richard was indebted to as admr., to pay to Rebecca $500, this being part of her share of the estate. 1873 W.T. Parham v. John Brown, et al. Blount Land, Promissory Note Additional defendants: Julia Ann Catherine Brown and George A. Brown. John and George Brown bought a house and lot from Henderson McKinney for $725. All but a $300 note of the purchase money was paid. Said note was assigned to Parham by McKinney. Parham charged that John and George deeded the house and lot to Julia in order to prevent him from collecting his note. 1873 Samuel Alexander& wife v. John McNabb Blount Land, Fraud Samuel Orr, father of the plaintiff's wife Margaret, died as the owner of 140 acres of land and was indebted to the defendant in the sum of $30. The defendant reported that a portion of the land would have to be conveyed to him to settle the debt, but the plaintiff Margaret claims she was ignorant of the proper ways to convey or deed land. After she wed the plaintiff, she heard rumors that the defendant conned her into deeded a larger amount of the land than owed and her husband confirmed it later. East Range: 9

1873 A. M. Gamble v. Arch Mason, admr. Of A. S. Mason, dec. Blount Debt Gamble, Will A. McTeer, and A.S. Mason were partners in trade until Mason's death. A settlement was made which found the plaintiff indebted to the Mason estate for $500. Arch Mason had obtained judgment of $261.17 for Gamble and McTeer's joint note. Gamble wants Arch Mason restrained from collecting said judgment and for the amount of $72.23 be deducted from the judgment-an amount Gamble believed was due to him by Mason estate for the amount he paid as surety in another suit. 1871 John D. Alexander v. Abraham Porter Blount Personal Property Dispute Abraham Porter bought a wagon with his own money for his mother. Testimony says the wagon was made for Abe, but that he wanted to give it to his little brother Sime, but since Sime was a minor he could not own property. Other testimony alleges wagon belonged Abe, Sime, or the mother. A levy was placed on the wagon in Abe's name and was about to be sold. 1868 John E. Gamble v. James W. Everett Blount Land, Promissory Note Gamble had sold to Everett in 1862 a tract of 165 acres, part of the old Lowry Farm, for $2325. Everett paid him $725 in Confederate currency, which he had no problem with, and issued 2 promissory notes of $800 and $700 to be paid in current funds. Later, Everett offered to pay Gamble $1000 in Confederate currency to which Everett refused due to its depreciating value.
