1926 Fidelity Trust Company, receiver v. Henry S. Orr et al.; Knoxville Trust Company v. Henry S. Orr et al. Blount Notes Orr and his wife executed and delivered to J. Albert Robbins promissory notes and a deed of trust on a tract of land. Albert sold and transferred all notes to Knoxville Trust Co. The notes were due and unpaid. Knoxville Trust Co. sought decree for amount due on notes/decree be declared liens on the land. Fidelity Trust, as receiver for Knoxville Trust, sued to recover the debt on notes as well. 1925 Tom Lewis, by next friend N. B. Lewis v. Babcock Lumber & Land Company Blount Workman's Compensation The suit was brought by Tom Lewis, who was a minor and sued by his next friend N. B. 1925 Gladys Clark v. Willie Clark Blount Divorce Gladys and Willie Clark were married in the month of February 1920 in Blount County. Gladys averred that Willie deserted her and that they had only been living together for two months before they separated. She claimed that Willie became angry and abusive causing her to move back into her father's home. They had one child, Henry Clark, whom defendant has never desired to meet or support. 1925 Aluminum Company of America v. Rosa Johnson Blount Workman's Compensation The plaintiff filed the bill to cease paying workmen's compensation to the defendant. The defendant, formerly Rosa Dennard, was receiving compensation for the death of her husband, Jim Dennard. She was remarried to L. J. Johnson, and the plaintiff prayed for the court to declare that she was no longer dependant on the compensation and for a decree for any money paid to Johnson after she was married. East Range:

1925 Aluminum Company of America v. J. Bert Flynn Blount Workman's Compensation Flynn filed against the Aluminum Company of America for Workmen's Compensation. Flynn claimed he suffered a severe electric shock to his head and rest of his body while working. He was paid $25 per week, so he averred that he was entitled to receive $12 per week for 14 weeks. Appellant filed petition and alleged that Flynn was making significantly less than $25 per week and denied that he was disabled. Flynn died after case was filed, and his widow entered into an agreement with apellant for compensation East Range:

1924 William F. Harrison v. H. B. McCall & Charles Hargis Blount Damages William Harrison sued H. B. McCall & Charlie Hargis for $5000. Harrison was a pedestrian walking across a bridge near his home when McCall's automobile was driving across the bridge on the wrong side. Hargis's motorcycle approached the bridge and turned to avoid colliding with McCall's automobile. When the motorcycle turned it ran into Harrison causing him serious injury. East Range:

1924 O. C. Cusick v. Thomas L. Nuchols, et al. Blount Injunction Contract between Cusick and defendants to make improvements to roads No. 20 & No. 46 in Blount County. Cusick and others were able to finish No. 20 before funds ran out. Cusick averred that road No. 46 needed to be finished and the contract enforced at the expense of the defendants. Cusick sued for an injunction enjoining defendants to keep funds for the improvements and enforce contract, etc. Add defs: C. P. Prater, and Alvin Walker as Good Roads Commissioners. 1924 J. L. Davis v. Mary Tarvin, admr. Blount Recovery of Money/ Wages Mary Tarvin was administratrix of the estate of her husband, J. C. Tarvin, deceased. Prior to J. C. Tarvin's death he was the owner of the Tarvin Pulverizer Company. He sold to J. L. Davis a pulverizer that Davis determined was defective. 1924 Annie E. Sheppard, et al. v. M. F. Atchley Blount Other Annie Sheppard and her husband, E. W. Sheppard sued M. F. Atchley, executor of the will of her first husband, George W. Frazier, deceased. Atchley fraudulently conveyed property that Annie & George acquired together to himself and secured a $1000 note that was part of George's estate that belonged to Annie. The Sheppards sued for a judgement against M. F. Atchley for the fair and reasonable value of the property that he fraudulently conveyed to himself and for the amount of the note he secured. 1924 Aluminum Company of America v. Willie Fendnall, formally Willie Owens, and Elijah Owens Blount Compensation Plaintiff alleged that their employee, Caleb Owens, received fatal injuries while at work. Owens left a surviving widow, Willie Owens, and a child, Elijah Owens. They were entitled to compensation by the company under the Workmen's Compensation Act. Willie later married Robert Fendnall and the plaintiff alleged that it was no longer entitled to compensate Willie and Elijah. 1924 A. D. Dunn v. L. L. Archer et al. Blount Unknown A. D. Dunn leased from T. A. Roylston a store room in the Hotel Building. He installed "The Maryville Electric Bake Shop". Dunn eventually sold the business and it's provisions to L. L. Archer and sub-leased the room to him. Archer then conveyed the shop to Teague who conveyed the shop to Gibbs. Teague moved the bake shop to another building and all defendants have failed to maintain payments on original lease. Dunn sued for decree for amount of rent due. Add defs: L. L. Archer, J. H.
