Haston, Sr., claiming that it was either fraud or a mistake. The aim was to have the title to the land given to W. C. Haston, Sr. Additional plaintiff: Van Haston. 1896 James A. Tulloss v. W. D. Holloway & Wife et al. White Petition for Payment Plaintiff filed suit to recover $900 fro the Holloways and interest, for which a lien on a property was requested. The bill claimed that the plaintiff purchased cattle from Isham Haston and, being old and of poor eye sight, accidentally paid him with a $1,000 bill instead of a $100 dollar bill, requiring $900 in return. Isham then paid this bill to his sister, Mrs. Holloway, who with her husband proceeded to hide the discrepancy by loaning money to others. Middle Range: 37

1878 William C. Haston v. William B. Cummings, admr. of Samuel Schockley, dec. et al. Van Buren Land and Title Dispute Additional defendants: Doris Shockley, Samuel Shockley, Sarah Shockley, Dorothy Shockley, Isabel Shockley, Elizabeth Shockley, Austin Denny, Theola Denny, Martha Denny. Samuel Shockley died intestate in 1869 leaving 8 children and his widow, Doris. Shockley left behind a tract of land, which 3 of the children sold and conveyed their interest to Haston. The other 3 sold their interest to Cummings. Dispute over whether the land should have been sold or partitioned off. Middle Range: 20
