1813 James Turney v. George W. L. Marr Montgomery Injunction In 1809, Jesse Denson was indicted in Montgomery for a misdemeanor while serving as Sheriff. George Washington L. Marr, the district attorney in Clarksville, called Turney as a witness. Turney came from Overton Co. and testified. He was inadvertently charged with non-attendance, and fined $125. He sued Marr in order to get the charge dismissed. Middle Range: 20
